Reading A Guitar Chart
 Reading the notes on a fretboard guitar chart is pretty simple.
Here are some rules to remember when viewing the chart that
will help you interpret it's meaning.



  • There are 6 lines (strings) on the chart
  • Notes are placed where your finger should go
  • Each fret is numbered to the left
  • The notes of open strings from left to right: (E,A,D,G,B,E)

More Chart Information:
After the 12th fret, the pattern of notes repeats itself from the top. This chart displays the 13th fret in the color red. These notes are also the same as playing the string open.
